There's a lot of competition on the Internet, but Ali Kadri, a spokesperson for the Islamic Council of Queensland in Australia, wins the award for Best Way to Handle A Troll. Equal parts charming and educational, Kadri schooled a rando named Joshua and completely outsmarted him, cracking some stellar jokes along the way.
And that's how it's done.
Kadri both started a dialogue, and deconstructed how dumb the troll was.
"A lot of people don't know much about Muslims. If I wasn't a Muslim, and all I knew about Muslims and Islam was from the media — I'd be pretty bloody scared of Muslims too," Kadri explained to Mashable Australia, "If a Muslim gets trolled, or responds in an angry way, then that is reinforcing what people think about us — it's not creating a dialogue, right?"
