Makes everything else about #TheDress seem kinda pointless...

If #TheDress had been resurrected a week later for any other ad campaign, it would have been crushed under a mountain of well-deserved sarcasm, but this powerful image from the Salvation Army in South Africa has stopped the Internet in its tracks today to consider domestic violence. With the hashtag #StopAbuseAgainstWomen, the Salvation Army is using the biggest internal argument the Web has had for years to raise a much deeper question—why is it so hard to recognize the signs of abuse among our friends and family, or if we do see them, why do we rationalize them away?
