People react to climate activists throwing soup on Van Gogh painting (video).

Yesterday, October 14th 2022, two anti-fossil fuel activists threw tomato soup on one of Van Gogh's 'Sunflower' paintings at the National Gallery in London. They then proceeded to glue themselves to the wall.

The painting was behind glass. It has been cleaned and is back on view. The protesters are in custody. Here's the video, and a collection of what people on Twitter had to say.

Van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ painting was vandalized with tomato soup by two anti-fossil fuel protestors in London.

The protestors then glued themselves to the wall beneath the painting.

It makes sense to protest the oil industry at art museums. Energy prices are high now, people don't have enough Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh

Van Gogh is good. Great even. The real crime here is the fact that all the good paintings are protected by glass though. Art belongs to the public, & the public should be allowed to destroy it whenever they want
