2015 Playmate Of The Year Dani Mathers decided to post a body shaming picture of another woman at the gym, and it went over about as well as you'd expect. She posted the pic of a woman in the background, along with herself and added it to her Snapchat story. So as a blonde Playmate she played the role of mean girl and was foolish enough to post it to social media.
She also did not realize the irony of posting "unsee this" in social media that can be screen-grabbed. But this picture was seen, of a naked woman going about her business in the privacy of a gym bathroom. Mathers started taking flack on Twitter, because obviously what she did was messed up, and had to apologize. Here's her string of apologies:
Sounds a bit like she's being forced to read an apology letter by a parent or principal (or furious internet), but there's also a hint of genuine disappointment in herself and the "horrible thing" she did.
Plus, now everyone knows that she chose to model because she appreciates "women and their bodies." She's not a Playmate for herself, she's doing it for other women.
A break from social media is probably a good idea right now.
