In the wake of President Donald Trump's travel ban, a breastfeeding mom and her 11-month-old daughter were separated at Dallas-Fort Worth airport on Saturday. The mother, a Sudanese woman who is a legal resident of the U.S., was reportedly physically kept apart from her husband and daughter Jude, while immigration lawyers tried to keep her from being deported, according to the Mirror.
I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I AM HELPING DRAFT A RESTRAINING ORDER TO PREVENT AN 11 MONTH OLD CITIZEN FOR DEPORTATION.
The child is breastfeeding and is being denied access to her mother. Attorneys are being denied access to our client.
Fortunately, the mother and her family were reunited and released along with other detainees. In another screenshot posted by The Leaky Boob, Strong posted a picture, and wrote, "I just got to hug the mother, father, and 11 month old. Who is chopping onions in here?"
It's supposed to be a "travel ban," not a "taking care of your baby ban."
