The goofy, smiling selfie above has been all over the Internet this week. These four women—Julia Carroll, Christina Fuentes Montenegro, Katie Gorz and Harlee Bradford—are the first women ever to complete the Marine Corps' infantry training school (though Bradford will not graduate yet due to an injury). Fifteen women entered the school on September 24, but 11 dropped out before the end of the 59-day program. Everyone is excited to see these gals break down barriers by being totally badass. But here's the lede that keeps getting buried:
