Celebrities love posting pics of themselves, and their fans love looking at those pics. Their fans also find plenty to criticize when they're scrolling through celebrity Twitter or Instagram accounts. And once those famous people start posting anything baby-related? Forget it. Everyone has an opinion on how parents should conduct themselves, what they should eat, and even the cuteness level of celebrity children. Here are 7 times that posts about their kids came around and bit a celebrity on the ass:
1. Ice T and Coco
After doing a pretty amazing photo shoot with their adorable newborn, Ice T and Coco got a lot of people commenting that the couple was exploiting her, because she already has her own Twitter account. Here's how they responded:
2. Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively
In a photo posted by wife Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds is carrying their new baby in a sling that isn't properly secured around his waist. So cute! Except that so many people criticized him about it he had to go on the TODAY Show to let everyone know he got the message, saying:
The baby's not properly secured in the vessel that I'm wearing there...I'm a first-time dad, and that is not the first mistake I've made. I can guarantee you it won't be last. I'd never used that particular carrier before. Every other time has been perfect.
3. Alyssa Milano
Alyssa Milano is very open about breastfeeding her kids, and thinks it's something she should be able to do publicly even if it upsets people like Wendy Williams. However, it wasn't her intention to become an advocate on the issue. After posting photos of herself breastfeeding, the haters came out of the woodwork. That's what pushed Milano to stand up to criticism–once she was done feeding her baby.
4. Mark Zuckerberg
Facebook friend Mark Zuckerberg shared an image of his baby waiting to get vaccinated, with no comment on the virtues or imaginary dangers of innoculations. That was enough. The comments are a firestorm of anti-vaxxer rhetoric and equally angry people telling them they're garbage. Cute baby though.
5. Solange Knowles
Solange occasionally posts photos of her 10-year-old son Julez, who is adorable. But because some people are monsters, she has no mercy when it comes to shutting down haters who post sh*t like this:
6. Mayim Bialik
In this case, Mayim Bialik sees breastfeeding her 3-year-old son on the subway to be completely natural and normal, so this is an "innocent" picture to her. On the other hand, there's no way in hell she didn't know that it would be controversial. Bialik is very committed to attachment parenting and allowed her children to wean themselves when they were ready. She even wrote a book about it. Many people are still slow to come around to her perspective, however.
7. Alicia Silverstone
Alicia Silverstone is another attachment-style parent with a very different perspective on what is "normal." She posted this video of sharing chewed food with her son on her blog, writing:
I fed Bear the mochi and a tiny bit of veggies from the soup from my mouth to his. It’s his favorite…and mine. He literally crawls across the room to attack my mouth if I’m eating. This video was taken about a month or 2 ago when he was a bit wobbly. Now he is grabbing my mouth to get the food!
Many people pointed out there are lots of ways to break down food for a baby without using your mouth, but that's really for Silverstone to decide when it comes to her own child. But, like everyone on this list, as a celebrity she is always in the spotlight. Especially when she shares crazy videos like this on the Internet.
BONUS: Chrissy Teigen
The baby isn't even out of Chrissy Teigen yet, and she's getting criticized for everything. From people who think she should get married before having a baby (SHE IS, STUPID), to people who don't think she should eat cereal. Yeah, a lot of people have time to criticize celebrities for eating cereal. Teigen know who those people are though. Cowards.
