Marc Carter's desperate search for a very specific blue sippy cup for his son recently went viral. That's because his son, Ben, is 14 and has autism, and refuses to drink out of anything but this one blue sippy cup, the same one he's used since he was two years old.

Obviously one sippy cup doesn't last that long, and Carter has had to replace it a few times. The trouble is that the manufacturer, Tommee Tippee, no longer makes that model. So the dad of three took to the internet to ask for help. That help came, and it was even more than Carter could ever have ever expected.

Tommee Tippee doesn't typically keep molds after they've stopped production of a cup, but they searched factories throughout the world and managed to find one. They let Carter know that they would produce as many cups as Ben needed, and for now they're doing a run of 500. A spokesperson for the company told BBC,

We are delighted to confirm that we are able to start production on a run of the original cup. This will ensure that Ben has a lifetime supply and that his family won't ever have to worry about finding another cup for Ben.

In an interview with BBC, Carter said, "This tiny blue cup dictates our life. . . I would not be happier if I won the lottery." He added, "Just knowing he has got these cups gives us peace of mind."

Carter also made a video for YouTube, to share the news and express his gratitude.

How nice to read some happy news like this!
