When you become a spouse and a parent, you basically kiss your privacy goodbye. It's hard to do even the most basic things like go to the bathroom, have a phone call, or even munch on a snack in peace. Is it utterly selfish to need some "me-time" every once in a while?

That's the dilemma Reddit user u/Independent-Pause-11 found himself in recently. While in desperate need of some uninterrupted dessert, he housed a piece of cake in his car, far away from his wife and kids' hungry eyes and prying hands. After getting busted by his wife for this sugary snafu, he turned to Reddit's Am I the As*hole to ask:

AITA (Am I the As*hole) for eating cake in my car so I didn't have to share with my wife and kids?

He writes:

I acknowledge, as a father and husband, that a lot of things that were singularly mine before just aren't.
