On Facebook, Roberts explained, "So one day my buddy Stephen [Cwiok] came to me with the joking idea of doing a maternity shoot...featuring me. We rolled it around for a while, then decided it was best to go with it." It's unclear why they even needed time to mull this decision over.
Roberts went full method for his modeling job. "I felt it was only right to at least try to look a little pregnant, so we grabbed some McDonald's and off we were." Food babies are just like real babies!
"If I'm being completely honest," he wrote on Facebook, "the setting, the occasion, the awful cramps from the double cheeseburgers, it all brought me so much closer to the pregnancy. Now, I'll never know what being in labor feels like, but i feel in my heart it can't be too far away from eating A LOT of fast food." Well, it's a little different.
"I'm truly blessed to have had this eye-opening experience," Roberts added. #blessed.
Roberts and his friend Cwiok spoke to Scary Mommy and shared a bit more about their project. The duo assembled the photos in a photo album that they put out at the couple's gender reveal party for all the guests to see. Surely some guests were totally befuddled, but Robert's girlfriend was into it. “His girlfriend’s reaction to the photos was just as priceless, but she also didn’t seem too surprised at the idea that Nick would do something like this,” Cwiok said.
The album included some glamour shots to remember Roberts's fast food glow, as well as some more pictures that celebrated his masculinity.
Since taking the photos, Roberts' girlfriend has given birth whereas Roberts probably had a baby monster in the bathroom.
