The New York Times' Upshot blog revealed yesterday that there are more large companies in the United States that are run by men named John than there are run by women. And when you add a few other common male names, well... according to The Upshot, "Among chief executives of S.&P. 1500 firms, for each woman, there are four men named John, Robert, William or James."

Well, that's an abysmally depressing ratio. Maybe all of us ladies should just change our names to things that sound like John in hopes that we get mistaken for men. Here are some recommendations:
