Tornadoes aren't as common in Germany as they are in the American Midwest, so maybe that explains the inquisitiveness that drove these German friends to get right up next to two growing twin tornadoes. According to the Schleswiger News, this video was filmed by Daniel Thomsen in the Schleswig-Holstein area of Germany earlier today. In it, you can clearly see two spouts form and, at the end of the video, merge into a stronger tornado. For some reason, this only piques the group's curiosity. While it's not exactly clear who's saying what, clearly the woman driving has some deep skepticism about how close they should be to the twister.
These weather events are both less common and less extreme in Central Europe than in the Great Plains, and authorities reported no casualties or major damage. Still, in general you should drive away from tornadoes. Just as a rule of thumb.
